“Unless Pocahontas marries John Smith every time, we feel like something hasn’t quite resolved.”

It’s funny that my students expect this outcome every year and then are all “what?!?” when Smith leaves Virginia and she ends up marrying John “the tobacco savior” Rolfe instead. Exposing our historic myths is fun!!
